Auditions

We are scheduling auditions for all orchestral instruments for the 2009-2010 season. Beginning in the fall, the Greater Baltimore Concert Strings will become the Greater Baltimore Concert Orchestra. This exciting change will expand opportunities for wind, brass and percussion players, and will give advancing strings players experience playing in a full orchestra setting. See the auditions page for more information.

Bridges Program

Now in its third year, the Bridges Program provides string instruments, twice-weekly small-group lessons, and a weekend orchestra experience for children in Baltimore City. Visit the Bridges Program page to read more–and to watch a video–about this exciting new program.

About the GBYO

Now in their thirty-second season, the Greater Baltimore Youth Orchestras provide student musicians with a thorough classical music and orchestral education while offering audiences concerts of music ranging from well-loved symphonies to cutting edge contemporary works. Three ensembles comprise the GBYO, the full-sized symphonic Youth Orchestra, the intermediate-level Concert Orchestra, and the beginning-level Sinfonia—and a new BRIDGES program offers beginning instruction to underserved youth in the city. The GBYO ensembles are in residence at Loyola College in Maryland.
